So exciting.

... it's important that you all know that in Transformers: Prime, Cliffjumper is going to be voiced by The Rock and that this is incredibly awesome.

My next batch of Generations toys got in from BigBadToyStore today.  And by "today" I mean "8 fucking pm."  Jesus, UPS. It's not a terribly exciting wave, consisting of my fifth iteration of the Sideswipe/Sunstreaker mold (and my third this year) and War for Cybertron Soundwave. I've been kind of lukewarm on him since his design isn't terribly interesting.  And he transforms into a box.  And he looks kind of awkward.

Laserbeak was busy that day.

He's not the only transforming Soundwave toy who doesn't come with a little dude, but it still feels like something is missing.  When your schtick is transforming into a box, even a box with wheels, you kinda need that extra little Mini-Con-esque interaction to work up some interest.  His chest does open and you can fit his two weapons inside.  Since they're cylinders and they both go in face-first, they do kind of look like cassette spools through the translucent chest window.  That's a consolation prize, I guess.

But seriously, that altmode is hella boring.

Tomorrow morning/afternoon/whenever I'm hitting the road for Intervention The Webcomics Convention in Rockville, Maryland.  I'll be at booth 53 and I'll be doing a panel on Saturday at 7!  Friday, the first day of the con, is the thirteenth anniversary of me webcomicking, so I guess it's only appropriate that I spend it shilling my webcomic wares in foreign lands.

But I'm sure I can come up with even extra way to celebrate it.

In the meantime, enjoy this Hijinks Ensue comic spawned by a conversation Joel and I had at AnimeFest last weekend.  There is a veritable sea of abs.

I'm home from Dallas where I had the super awesomest time at AnimeFest.  I am serious, that place is the bomb.  I also totally hung out with other comics folks like Joel Watson and Trunks and Soto and Amanda Bissell and was allowed to sleep on an awesome waterbed inside the home of J. Grant and Mel Hynes.  And one night I totally saw Randy Milholland and we made out.

Oh and I guess I had a panel.

And now that I'm home I have to prepare to leave in a day and a half for Intervention in D.C./Rockville.  I will be at booth 53. You should meet me there.

I am serious.

You should go to Intervention.

This afternoon I'm on the jet to Texas to totally rock AnimeFest, but before I go, I need to tell you something.

It's super-important.

Last Stand of the Wreckers is out in trade paperback now.

It's not just your usual trade.  It has, like, crazy extra stuff in it.  As I warned months back, the profiles in the individual issues aren't in the trade, but the trade has soooo much stuff the individual issues do not.  There's, like, a whole text story in here.  It's several pages long and excellent.  There's two new profiles for Overlord and Snare.  There's a page of trivia notes on the individual issues.  There's another page of designs and arts and what have you.  There's the one-page Wreckers comic, "Dead Men's Boots."  It's all magnificent.  All trades should be like this.  I mean, c'mon, a whole extra story in here!

And that's besides the main event being all super-awesome.  Buy the hell out of it.

Meanwhile, I need to get another box of books ready for AnimeFest.  I mailed two out to Texas ahead of time and only one arrived!  Shit!  I'll have to check a replacement box with me at the airport.  Glad I got some insurance on that missing box.  Hopefully it'll show up... somewhere...

Gearing up for AnimeFest over here.  Well, I was, until I saw some DeviantArt illustration I really liked, wanted to favorite it, realized I had no DeviantArt account so I couldn't favorite it, and so I got a DeviantArt account so I could favorite it.  And then I spent the afternoon filling up my gallery.  I've got to look presentable.

Whoops.

Got some special stuff for you this weekend in Dallas!  Special new freebie bookmarks that are SO SECRET I have to mosaic-filter them out.  Yeah, that's right.  I'm a tease.  Find out more at my panel this Sunday at 2.  I am bringing a slideshow presentation that will hopefully work.

Anyway, I guess enjoy my DeviantArt page or something.

I'm gonna be in AnimeFest 2010 in Dallas this weekend!  (so nice I typed it twice)  I've never exhibited my exotic wares in Texas before, so this should be a blast.  And, hey, I have some panels up my sleeves!

David's debuting a brand new webcomic next week which he's been exceedingly coy about, so here's your chance to ask everything you wanted to know about this Super Secret Project and see how that lines up with what he's willing to answer.
